I just received it today (6/5/2014). First let me say that the gun seems to be of high quality. It looks very similar to the Gilmour Foamaster II, although the dail has numbers 0 - 5 on it whereas I believe the Gilmour has letters A - E. The directions don't provide flow rates so I don't know what the numbers mean yet. The dial doesn't have such a great feel to it, in fact, it feels kinda chincy, so we'll see, but I don't think I'll be changing the settings once I get this unit dialed in, so I don't think it will be a problem. The bottle thread is a smaller diameter than the Gilmour. The down side is that you won't be able to buy a larger bottle like you can for the Gilmour Foamasters. I don't think this is a big deal for home use as the bottle seems to be big enough on setting 1 to foam down my entire car, which is a 2011 Fusion Sport, with the bottle going empty just as I got the last part of the car foamed, so you can kinda judge how much coverage you would get on your car at that setting. I can't tell you if 1 is the highest or lowest setting, more on that later. The attachment of the foam nozzle looks identical to the Gilmour with exactly the same kind of spring clip. Lastly, the sprayer handle and the quick connect fittings appear to be identical to the Gilmour gun and is made of very high quality brass construction. The sprayer handle has a heavy, solid feel to it. It appears that Gilmour makes this gun. I don't know who BunnyK is, but this gun is a really great deal IMO.The unit comes in a small box with the 4 main pieces separated. After watching the Junkman video about changing the foam nozzle head and spring clip, I knew to check to make sure the spring clip bump was fully seated in the notch and then insert the nozzle, pushing until you hear it click. Well, I never heard it click and when I pulled it back, it came right out. I thought, oh no, this is going to be a problem. So, I pushed it back in as hard as I could, but never heard it click. This time, however, it seemed to be in a little better, so I thought I'd test it with water. It was fine, the foam nozzle stayed in and I had no problems during use.I have Chemical Guys Honeydew Snow Foam on order but it hasn't been delivered yet, and I couldn't wait to try this foam gun out, so I used my Meguiars Deep Crystal Car Wash soap instead. I wasn't expecting much foam since that is some pretty cheap soap. First I tried a light concentration, just barely covering the bottom of the bottle with the soap and then filling it about 1/2 full with water. It made foam, but nothing spectacular. I tried different settings and it didn't seem to make any difference. I decided to fill the bottle about 1/8 full with soap and no water to see how the foam was affected. It made some awesome foam! I tried the various settings and I couldn't really tell much difference between them. This is why I can't tell you if 1 is the highest or lowest setting, there just wasn't enough of a difference for me to really tell.I can tell you that the foam it made with the Deep Crystal soap and no water was nice; not pressure washer foam cannon nice, but every bit as good as every Gilmour videos I've seen. I was very happy, but it did suck down the soap fast. For my next test, I wanted to see if I could feel a difference in suction in the tube with the various settings. I removed the jar and pulled the trigger with my finger over the suction tube. The water came out of the foam nozzle as normal, no water came out from the bottle lid, and I could feel a strong suction from the tube. This unit doesn't mix water in the bottle, it draws the soap mixture out of the bottle and mixes it with the water inside the venturi. I could feel a slight difference in tube suction between the various settings, but again, it wasn't enough to really know what the settings were doing. I'm going to need to measure the rates with a bucket and a timer to figure out what the settings do. It will require some trial and error with soap concentrations and dial settings to really zero in on the best combination. The suction felt strong enough to pull some pretty thick soap, so I don't think clogging will be a problem.I decided to try a 25% soap 75% water mix in the bottle and filled it up to a level about midway between the neck and the top of the BunnyK logo. It made awesome foam and as previously stated, I was able to foam down my whole car with that amount on setting 1.One thing I will say is that this gun consumed a LOT of soap. Part of that was likely the need to have a high concentration to get the Megiuars Deep Crystal car wash to foam, and part of it is that it draws the solution out of the bottle very quickly. I wasn't worried about the high soap concentration this time because I have already stripped my wax off in preparation for clay bar and some paint correction work that I will be doing, but such high concentrations would definitely be a concern on a freshly waxed vehicle. The level of concentration that I needed with the Deep Crystal to make it foam would very likely remove wax.Overall, I am very impressed with this foam gun. It's a steal compared to the other Gilmour foam guns and seems to perform just as well. Not sure how durable the dial will be, but it shouldn't matter once it's dialed in. Hopefully, I will be able to use the Honeydew Snow Foam at it's recommended concentration and get great foam without removing wax. I think if the Honeydew lives up to the hype, this gun will deliver the foam.I bought this for the brass parts installed in it and never owned a foam gun. I above it.I have used it with the Duragloss 902 soap, full strength in bottle and it makes wonderful foam for my motorcycle washes. I highly recommendI have been using this product several months for car washing. The amount of soap it dispenses is fantastic and the product is super easy to use. This is best hookup to use on a garden hose. I reccomend the Griot Surface Foaming Wash, that is what I have been using with it.Wish it would allow a more powerful spray, but it does create a nice foam that covers my truck easily, I use it all the time.Foams well. Hardware a bit awkward to adjust foam. Circular dial would be easier but it works ok and I do not need to adjust much. Have to really push in plastic tube in bottle to close the lid. Water nozzle really only has one mode. Pretty much full blast only. This is my first foam gun so I do not have much to compare it with.Easy to assemble and worked as described. Have been using the 'two bucket' system since I bought my 2012 Challenger last summer. Actually saw this gun on a youtube car care video and thought I'd try it. When it arrived, I was quite impressed by its construction - solid brass fittings and well fitting plastic parts. The detachable spray handle is a nice touch too. Don't have to switch to a second nozzle for rinsing..I hooked it up and filled it with some nice Meguiars Gold Class soap and was disappointed to see hardly any foam produced. The Meguiars is quite a thick soap, so I tried diluting it about 50/50 with water in the sprayer jar... Bingo! Massive amounts of foam. I can completely cover my Challenger with a nice thick blanket of foam in less than a minute - and the Challenger is by no means a small car....You could probably omit a bucket and just go with a mitt rinse bucket using this foam gun. I'm determined to avoid as much grit as possible, so will stick with the two buckets and use this foam gun to apply a thick bed of foam as a 'presoak' for the dirt and grime. This will have a lot of uses around the house, not just for the car.Good product, good price, does what it says. Very happy with my purchase.JT.Easy to use. Quick and convenient for washing down the car with a microfibre rag. Haven't found a soap that would allow it to work touchless. Though once I fully detail and protect my car once conditions are right, that will be the intention.Overall I really like the Foamaster. It works great for me even though my water pressure isn't the highest. Even at the lowest foam setting I get a good thick foam using Meguair's Gold Class car wash. I've changed my wash routine from two buckets to a single rinse bucket with grit guard. I spray the car with water only, then foam the whole car, followed by a water only rinse to remove most of the dirt and grit. After that I foam, use a wash mitt, then rinse in sections. This method works just as well as a two bucket wash and it's quicker, leaving me more time for the finer details like waxing and polishing. My only complaint about the Foamaster is the really poor quality metal clip that holds the nozzle on. It's a really thin, weak piece of metal wire that bent the first time I tried to attach the nozzle. When I tried to bend it back, the super soft metal just snapped in two. It's too bad about this as the rest of the Foamaster is well built.I contacted Gilmour and they did reply quickly, suggesting that I contact the seller for a replacement or I could deal with them directly. I chose to do neither since I felt the replacement would have the same problem. I attached the nozzle with a long nylon zip tie and that works for me. If you wanted to change between the long and short nozzles, this solution may not be acceptable.I purchased this item as my son had seen it on-line and we wanted to try it for the washing of our vehicles. It worked great. I would highly recommend to anyone looking to ditch the car wash and get the same great foaming action in their own driveway.Delivery was quick also. No complaints at all.
